Companions for Living Announces New Hires, Promotions and Accomplishments  

WEST HARTFORD, CT – Julianne Roth, President of Companions for Living (CFL), a provider of home care and specialized memory support services for older adults and their families throughout Greater Hartford, is pleased to announce the following new hires, promotions and accomplishments.

“I am proud that the company I founded in 2005 here in West Hartford continues to grow, thrive and serve residents in our community, as we soon will celebrate 15 years in business,” said Roth.   


Lauren Forbes, Administrative Assistant
Lauren’s role includes providing receptionist, human resources and general office support.  She joins the CFL family after receiving her BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU) in May 2019. Lauren has also worked as a caregiver, sales associate, certified lifeguard, and held the position of President for the Accounting Society at SCSU.


Mireya Lepore, Team Lead, Scheduling 
Prior to joining CFL, Mireya worked as a scheduler at a home care/behavioral health agency and was promoted after just eight months to the Lead position in her department. Prior to working in the home care field, Mireya worked in retail, as a pharmacy technician, and as a Peer Academic Advisor at Eastern Connecticut State University (ECSU).  Mireya graduated from ECSU with a BS in Psychology, including a concentration in Industrial/Organizational Psychology.


Ken Popillo, Manager, Community Relations
Ken joins CFL and colleague David Goldberg as Manager of the Community Relations team.  The managers meet with individuals and families to determine the appropriate home care support needed and work closely with physicians, hospitals, clinicians, clergy and skilled nursing facilities seeking collaborative opportunities. Ken has been assisting individuals and families for over 25 years. He has a diverse range of experience in healthcare and home care, and founded two successful healthcare networking groups in Connecticut.


Tammy Thompson, Office Manager
Tammy Thompson joined CFL in 2018 as a Scheduling Coordinator and has now been promoted to Office Manager. Prior to CFL, Tammy worked as a Scheduling Coordinator for eight years at another home care agency. She has pursued a Medical Technician course of study at the University of Hartford, a Certified Nursing Assistant certificate at Capital Community College and taken classes in the field of Human Services at Goodwin College.


Julianne Roth, President, and Frank Day, Director of Operations for CFL spoke at the 2019 Home Care Association of America Leadership Conference held in Tucson, AZ on September 22 and 23.  Attendees were immersed in the latest home care innovations, business strategies, practices and methods throughout the conference, along with the opportunity to learn from industry leaders in keynote speeches and expert breakout sessions on a range of relevant topics.  Julianne joined the board of the Home Care Association of America in 2016 and became an officer of the board in 2017 when she assumed the role of Secretary.


In other business and community news, Companions for Living recently was a sponsor of the West Hartford Senior Center and West Hartford Chamber of Commerce annual golf tournaments; is a Community Sponsor of Playhouse on Park’s 2019-2020 performance season; and is sponsoring the Promise Garden for the eighth year at the 2019 Hartford Walk to End Alzheimer’s being held at Pratt and Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field in East Hartford on Sunday, October 13, 2019 (to join or donate to the CFL Walk team, visit www.companionsforliving.com)
